Mike McNeil, PT, DPT, ATC, began his career in the area of rehabilitation in August of 1990 when he enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) to obtain a degree in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in sports medicine. He spent close to 1,500 hours working with both men’s and women’s sports, in the training room and on the field, while completing an academic curriculum specifically tailored to the evaluation and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. In 1994, he received his B.S. degree from USM and passed the National Athletic Trainer’s Association’s board exam, becoming a certified athletic trainer (ATC).

In 1995, Mike began his studies for physical therapy at the LSU Medical Center in New Orleans. He received his degree in physical therapy in August of 1997, and later went on to pursue his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the Ola Grimsby Institute, which he received in September of 2002.

In his 14 years as a physical therapist, Mike has utilized tremendous skill in evaluating and treating patients with various orthopedic pathologies. He has rehabilitated professional athletes, worked with many post-operative patients, and developed work conditioning programs to return injured employees to work in a timely fashion.

For the last 6 years, Mike has been the director of clinical operations for Superior Rehabilitation in Metairie. Over the last nine years, he has gained extensive experience in performing Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) for numerous diagnoses and conditions, and is currently utilizing the ErgoScience FCE in the Superior Rehabilitation Metairie office.
